For this hilltop residential aged care development for Regis Elermore Vale, Jackson Teece designed a singular architectural site that feels right at home amongst the bushlands of the sprawling Hunter Valley.

 

The building’s monolithic exterior emerges through the gumtrees, with a glazed atrium at the building’s entrance providing a communal meeting place for residents and families. With subtle nuances of gold, copper and brown, the site actively reflects the dry, leafy ground it sits upon.

Inside, residents enjoy their own generous, high-end rooms, complete with private ensuite. These living quarters are serviced by nurse stations and common open public spaces such as comfortable open plan lounge areas, commercial kitchen serveries and dining rooms.

The central public spaces and amenities provide a number of socially-minded opportunities for families, encouraging a connection to the community. These include an onsite café, cinema, hair salon and multi-purpose rooms, while sunset views of distant hills peacefully entrance onlookers as they relax on the outdoor pergola terrace
