Opal North Lakes, a new retail, lifestyle and health precinct in South East Queensland offers permanent, respite and dementia-specific aged care addressing the increasing aged care needs of the Moreton Bay region.
The contemporary 146-bed facility features a mixture of single and companion rooms in standard and premium configurations. Four spacious and light-filled residential floors are generously appointed with their own ensuite, private balconies, TVs and furnishings, offering a practical and luxurious aged care living environment.
The 5 story village also features an onsite café, hairdresser and several recreational areas. Located in an award-winning master-planned suburb, residents have full access to a wide range of local retail, recreation, medical and transport amenities both within the town centre and wider community. The new facility offers residents a range of lifestyles and levels of care depending on their needs.
The building engages with the surrounding community through the use of a warm, neutral palette, the legible entry and café courtyard on McLennan Ct, and activated sunlit outdoor areas where residents can interact naturally and explore the neighbourhood while benefiting from the specialist and clinical care as required.
The design team prioritised accessibility, flexibility, line of movement and efficient layouts while providing this facility which is customised to Opal’s high standard of care.
- The resident rooms, generous common areas and balconies overlook mature trees, lush landscaping and provide a visual connection to the village centre, with the Glasshouse Mountains, Morton Bay and North Stradbroke Island on the horizon.
