Jackson Teece’s striking design of St. James’ Chapel and Dover Hall is central to Anglicare’s residential hospitality and wellness precinct in Castle Hill. Pinned delicately to the slanted site at four points, it embodies a sense of stillness, calm and strength.

Spanning a 940m² footprint, the site is composed of a ceramic clad building encasing the chapel, Dover hall and supporting spaces. This is broken down in scale with a lightweight, perforated aluminium veil, allowing a soft dappled light to filter through the internal space at all times of the day. Working together with a soft, warm interior palette, visitors are immersed in a comforting and welcoming golden hue – vital to the ambience of significant ceremonial events.

A strong flowing aesthetic connects the sleek spire and entrance to the courtyard opening, providing an open communal space that remains grounded yet always linked to the structure above. It’s this continuous flow that maintains a holistic environment – one that extends to Lober Square’s surrounding amenities, including Lober House, the bowling green and cafe.
