Jackson Teece was engaged to work on this Aged Care project at Santa Monica Boulevard, Hope Island, Gold Coast. We worked collaboratively to design a tailored flagship facility for Japara, with subtropical design as an underlying ethos, embracing the coastal Queensland context.
Japara’s “high care” focused model of care facilitates the full spectrum of residents’ care needs, including specialisation in providing high acuity care including residents living with dementia.
The Home includes a total of 120 private rooms with ensuites across two levels with a specialist high care dementia wing on the ground floor. The resident group is divided into smaller houses that share common facilities between them. The proposed room types are in accordance with Japara’s preference for a variety of accommodation standards.
This highly desirable location, between The Pines Golf Club and Coomera River canals is a verdant sub-tropical environment. The development is situated in a strong demographic area for retirement living that will enable the new care home to service the local communities’ growing residential care needs.
