Jackson Teece was commissioned to design a welcoming multi-residential building that bridges the gap between its industrial surroundings and the considered design of urban green spaces.

With 33 apartments sitting atop a small commercial frontage, sight lines carry through to the carefully crafted green space to the south east of the site.. This communal area provides a welcoming landscape and escape from the stressors of city life. This calming open space includes an extensive deep soil zone, allowing trees to grow to a substantial height, creating a pleasant and relaxing shared space for residents. A large rooftop terrace offers yet another external sanctuary for those within, and is intended for more vibrant social gatherings.

Making the most of a simple external palette of brick, concrete and tile, 33 Dunning reflects its raw industrial environment, yet is soft enough to remain inviting for those passing by. Ultimately, this subtle texture and depth helps maintain a distinct architectural merit that future local developments can easily adhere to.
