Damian Barker

Jackson Teece Design Director, Damian Barker, leads our multiple design teams in Sydney and Brisbane and has delivered significant projects nationally and internationally across a wide range of sectors. He has extensive experience in urban design and architecture, with specialist skills in Ecologically Sustainable Design (ESD). Underlying his work is a sophisticated ability to reconcile the functional relationships between complex architectural and public spaces.

In addition to extensive experience on numerous public, residential and commercial buildings at a range of scales and typologies, he has also played an integral role on many challenging urban design projects which require a multi-disciplinary approach to resolve sensitive and often conflicting issues. His most recent work includes master plans for the Southpoint Mixed Use Transit Oriented Development at South Bank, Anglicare Castle Hill Village and the Oran Park Lifestyle Village.

Damian’s work has been recognised with numerous prestigious awards, particularly for residential, ESD and urban design, with work published in numerous journals. Most recently, receiving the 2018 Australian Timber Awards Winner for Sustainability, and the 2018 Urban Design Institute of Australia Award (UDIA) for Excellence in Aged Care for Flames Trees, Thomas Holt at Kirrawee, NSW.
