Jackson Teece, in collaboration with The Globe Consortium and ADM Architects, has designed a transformational proposal for the David Jones and City Diggers Club sites. “The Globe” will be a landmark $230M+ mixed-use development reshaping Wollongong’s Central Business District. Combining innovative design, economic vitality, and sustainability, this project will set a new standard for urban regeneration in this precinct.

The 5,400-square-meter site spans two city blocks and includes a 236-key 5-star hotel, 8,300 square meters of A-grade commercial space, and a revitalised City Diggers Club with 114 motel rooms. At the street level, retail and hospitality venues energise the area, and they are complemented by a rooftop sky bar and pool with stunning views.

Productive consultations with Indigenous Consultancy FCAD ensured the design reflects cultural heritage through wayfinding, endemic plantings, and interpretive narratives. Sustainability is a central initiative targeting a 40% reduction in operational carbon emissions and a focus on Smart Technology and biophilic design.
