Park Court Minami-Aoyama is located in close proximity to Omotesando Station in Tokyo, nestled behind lively city blocks. Consisting of 17 apartments over 9 storeys, the design creates a ‘hidden retreat’ which becomes a sanctuary to the residents. Organic and striking forms were introduced while respecting the original garden on the site and creating a dramatic timber louvre approach to the entry.

The façade has been divided into multiple parts, including a bronze base highlighted by the entrance frame, two curved white ribbons that mimic ripples, and a sculpted bronze top. The southeastern sharp corner embodies the gracefulness of a leaf and adds a distinctive edge to the façade’s appearance.

The transition from the enclosed wooden louvre design to the double-height foyer, then to the exhibition space, results in a striking change in ambiance as one arrives
