World Architecture News Awards – Shortlist

Jackson Teece is very excited to see our Changsha project shortlisted for the World Architecture News Awards.

Located in Changsha, Hunan province, a flagship trans-generational retirement community for Taikang Property Management Corp, China’s leading operator in the retirement living and aged care sector.

A 600m folding roof form wraps and defines a communal plaza at the centre of the community. The roof provides shelter for a series of town centre and community facilities forming a permeable and highly engaging focal point for the community.

The community will accommodate over 6000 residents and includes a variety of dwellings, community facilities, a university for the elderly, gyms, spas, pool and other recreation facilities.

The project was secured through an international architectural competition in early 2018, construction commenced in 2019 and the first stage will be complete at the end of 2021.
