SummitCare Monterey Receives s4.55(2) Approval

Jackson Teece is pleased to confirm that the proposed residential aged care facility at 119 Barton Street, Monterey NSW, has received s4.55(2) modification approval from the Sydney Eastern City Planning Panel.

The development, led by SummitCare and project managed by Census Advisory, will transform the site of the former Francis Drake Bowling Club, which has been closed since 2014, into a contemporary aged care residence for 128 residents. The facility will offer wellness amenities, a café, generous communal spaces, and a fully integrated basement with 40 car spaces.

The Panel’s determination acknowledges the design’s alignment with planning controls and community expectations, and the unanimous approval reflects confidence in the project’s contribution to aged care infrastructure in the Bayside area.

SummitCare, a family-owned provider with over 50 years of experience, continues to set the benchmark for aged care across Sydney. Monterey will join its network of ten accredited centres, delivering care with professionalism, warmth and respect.

We are excited to move into the next stages of delivery and look forward to bringing this important community project to life.
